Students will be able to... Progress on Summit Playlists. Discover more about Early Humans by finishing the documentary The Great Human Odyssey Standards: SL 6.2 - Interpret information in different media formats and explain how it contributes to a topic. Do Now: (10 minutes) Go to this website and start working on the activities. Answer as many as you can in the time given. Whole Group: (20 minutes) Summit tutorial. Mr. Williams will take all students through the Summit platform, reminding them of all important features, including goal-setting, playlist navigation, and note-formatting. Collaborative: (20 minutes) Students who have not yet completed the "Wired for Fear" video and the questions you must do this before moving on to history activities. Students should watch the video individually, then they may discuss the answer to the following questions with their small groups/partners. The questions that students must answer:
Independent: (70 minutes) Station 1. Half the class will watch The next 30 minutes of The Great Human Odyssey on their own. Students should start at 51:00 and stop the video at 1:11:00. While watching, students will answer the video notes worksheet. During this time, Mr. Williams will be checking student notebooks to make sure they have all required components. Station 2. The other half of the class will work on either English or History Summit playlists. Remember to set a goal if you haven't already, and to take notes using the correct format.
