Objectives:
Students will be able to... 1. Complete their Ancient Egypt Geography CEEL paragraph. 2. Work in groups to complete checkpoint 2 of the Ancient Egyptian Geography project. Standards: RI.6.1 - Cite textual evidence. RI.6.2 - Determine the main idea of a passage. Do Now: (10 minutes) See PowerPoint Whole Group: (25 minutes) We will review the elements of a quality CEEL paragraph together. We will do this by reviewing a question from the ELA interim assessment that we took a couple of weeks ago. We will read the passage as a class and annotate for important details. Students will then answer the question again, this time in correct CEEL paragraph form. Independent: (40 minutes) All students will begin in independent station. While in independent, they will be expected to complete the following activities in order:
Students will work in their groups to complete the assignment for checkpoint two of their Ancient Egyptian Museum project. Follow the directions below to get started. 1. Go to Summit. 2. Click on "Year" then on "Ancient Egyptian Museum Project" 3. Scroll down to the second checkpoint (Egyptian Pharaoh Paragraph) and "view all" 4. Open the first two resources. 5. Follow the directions on the "Group Task" document. Exit Ticket: (10 minutes) See PowerPoint Homework: 1. If you have not finished, your Ancient Egypt CEEL paragraph must be submitted to me by the beginning of class TOMORROW.
